What's your interviewability score?
Most founders are not turned down by the media because their company is too small. They are turned down because nothing about them is ready to be quoted. An editor, a podcast producer and — increasingly — an AI assistant are all doing the same triage: can I describe this person in one sentence, can I check that the sentence is true, and will they say something a reader has not already read this week? Fail any of those and the answer is no, whatever your revenue is.
That readiness is what this tool measures. Eight questions, roughly two minutes, and a 0–100 score for how easy you currently are to feature. It is not a measure of how impressive you are. It is a measure of how little work you leave for the person deciding whether to put you in front of their audience.
What "interviewability" actually means
Interviewability is the degree to which a person can be booked, briefed and published without the outlet having to invent anything. It has four parts, and this quiz scores all four:
- A thesis. One specific, arguable position you are known for. Not your job title, not your product — an opinion about your industry that someone could reasonably disagree with.
- Proof. Concrete, checkable specifics: numbers you are allowed to say out loud, named customers, a result with a date on it. A producer's real fear is booking a guest who turns out to have nothing but adjectives.
- A track record they can see. Existing footage, a podcast appearance, a byline — anything that proves you are comfortable and coherent on the record. The first placement is always the hardest; every one after it is easier.
- A findable, consistent identity. Same name, same title, same company description everywhere. This is the part that decides whether an AI assistant can resolve you as a real entity, and it is the part founders most often leave broken.
Why this decides whether AI mentions you at all
Answer engines do not form opinions — they mirror what they can retrieve and corroborate. When someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity who the notable people in your category are, the model reaches for names that appear, described consistently, across sources it already trusts. A founder with three interviews in reputable outlets and an identical bio on every profile is a resolvable entity. A founder with a large social following and nothing else is, to the model, effectively absent.
That is why the same four things that get you booked by a human editor also get you cited by a machine. Interviewability is not a media metric that happens to help with AI visibility. They are the same metric.
How to read your score
The score is a readiness check, not a verdict on your company. A low score almost always comes from two or three fixable gaps — usually a missing thesis and an inconsistent bio — rather than from anything structural. Most of what moves the number is work you can do in an afternoon, before you pitch anyone.
