Luxury Travel with a Purpose: How Wild Nectar Turns Every Booking into a Greener Future

Bronwyn Worrick — VP of Sustainability, Wild Nectar Collection

Bronwyn Worrick is VP of Sustainability at [Wild Nectar Collection](https://www.wildnectarcollection.com), a sustainable luxury travel company and retailer. Her central message is that credibility matters more than claims: every operator is assessed through the NectaMark™ framework, and every trip sold carries an Eco Score, so travelers can see evidence rather than rely on promises.

Wild Nectar designs high-end, immersive journeys for travelers who want their trips to reflect their values. Bronwyn describes travel as something that creates real impact on people, planet, and prosperity. Travelers, meanwhile, face endless choices and sustainability claims that are hard to verify.

Her role is to make sustainable travel easy and credible. In practice, that means assessing every operator Wild Nectar works with through NectaMark™ and giving each trip an Eco Score.

According to Bronwyn, the benefits go beyond environmental impact:

Confidence: travelers know their journey matches their values without researching every lodge and operator themselves. Better experiences: operators who care about their places and communities tend to offer the best guiding, the deepest local knowledge and the most genuine welcome. Respectful encounters: travelers come home with memories they feel good about.

NectaMark™ has three levels, each going deeper into an operator's practices:

1. Level 1 is a foundational review of public information against 10 indicators. 2. Level 2 is a detailed questionnaire covering 67+ criteria, backed by supporting documentation. 3. Level 3 is an on-site assessment.

The framework looks across People, Planet and Prosperity. That covers emissions, water, waste, conservation, community, safety, labour standards and local economic benefit.

Every assessment ends with specific recommendations. Wild Nectar then tracks whether operators act on them and how their scores improve. Bronwyn says that improvement is how the company measures its own impact.

Wild Nectar has three standing corporate commitments: 2% of annual profits go to girls' education, 1% goes to the Island Ocean Connection Challenge, and one tree is planted with Evertreen for every trip booked. The Island-Ocean Connection Challenge is a global initiative led by Island Conservation, Re:wild and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, dedicated to restoring and rewilding 40 island-ocean ecosystems by 2030. Evertreen is a tree-planting platform; its site says native species are planted with local farmers, with GPS coordinates and satellite tracking for every tree.

Travelers also receive the carbon footprint associated with their trip and a link to offset it with Sustainable Travel International, an organization committed to using travel and tourism to create environmental and social impact in destinations around the world. Bronwyn says Evertreen was added to round out these commitments, so every journey also gives back directly to forests and ecosystems.

She is clear that tree planting complements the core work rather than replacing it. Wild Nectar's biggest lever is selectively choosing and supporting the operators its travelers spend time with.

Bronwyn sees travelers increasingly wanting proof, not promises, and expects verified, evidence-based standards to become the norm in high-end travel. She would like to see impact measured as transparent trends over time rather than single headline numbers. For Wild Nectar, that means deeper assessments across more of its partners and more opportunities for operators to learn from each other.
